DEPRESSION

DEPRESSION. I'm sure that most of you cringed after reading the title. But please just give this article a chance and keep reading.
Nowdays depression is something that even a 12 year old knows about. Almost everyone in this world claim to have depression at atleast some point in their lives. This terrible sickness has become more common in teens rather than adults. For teenagers, it has almost become a necessity or a tag that everyone must have. People ( mostly adults)  often name this behaviour as "attention seeking" or "dramatic". But, trust me most of the time it's not.
"What exactly is depression?" To be brutally honest with you, there are various answers to this question. The feeling can't be understood, it can only be felt. Due to this reason, only people who are truly suffering can fully understand what it actually feels like. Depression is many at times mistaken for sadness. Depression isn't just being sad. It's an inexplicable feeling of hopelessness and *extreme* sadness for a prolonged period of time.
So, to all the people who do not take it seriously let me tell you, Depression is when you wake up in the morning and the only thing you look forward to is sleeping. Depression is when the things that usually made you happy don't give you the same pleasure anymore. A constant annoying voice in your head suffocates you by saying " What is the point of doing it, when you know it's not worth it  ?".
Under various circumstances, depression becomes very serious. It may lead to sucidal thoughts and ultimately sucide itself. Therefore, if a person is constantly trying to give signs that he/she is not okay, don't shrug it off like it's nothing. Ask them what's wrong and stop trying to convince them into believing it's all in their heads.
However, one must also be able to find out if that person actually has depression or if they're just pretending. The task is pretty simple. A depressed person would never keep telling you that they have depression. A depressed person is generally very inconspicuous about their mental health. Of course, they'll give you signs indirectly but,  YOU  have to be smart enough to understand them.
Lastly, i just have a little note for those sad people reading this blog. Don't worry because time heals. I know that this feels impossible right now especially during these crazy times. But I promise you that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
